Faculty & Safety
The faculty at Active8 is a multi-skilled team comprising behavioural experts, psychologists and outdoor experts and is a vital element in the Outward Bound experience.
The instructors are all certified Liaison Officers from the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (I.M.F.) and also certified from the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Darjeeling), Search and rescue from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (Uttarkashi), Wilderness Medicine and Backcountry First Aid from N.O.L.S. and the Swift Water River Rescue from the Rishikesh guide association.
The team has a virtue experience in people development and program facilitation. Their collective knowledge in practical outdoors, client business processes and human behaviour and their “care-fronting” approach while processing behavioural data enables them to design & deliver programs effectively and consistently.
In addition to technical expertise in their respective fields, the team is a highly motivated group of people equipped with a blend of empathy, insight, sensitivity and patience – characteristics that are of utmost importance while anchoring programs containing real physical, mental and emotional (psychological) challenges. In fulfilling the role of program anchor, trainer, facilitator or consultant, these experts initiate and engineer diverse situations and experiences, and provide individual and group counselling and feedback as appropriate to the level and type of program.
The front-ending faculty team’s ability to deliver consistently is made possible largely because of the solid support of the dedicated and ever-smiling backend staff, which is well-trained in all aspects of hospitality and outdoor support needed for all types of OBL programs.

“It’s better to be safe than sorry” Safety is our strong core value. This has been the hallmark of Activ8 programs all these years, a zero rate of accidents or mishaps for participants at any of our programs.
Team Building programs are generally intertwined with high adrenaline Adventure activities. With the nature of our adventure-based camps, rigorous risk, safety management and procedure standards follow international guidelines as stated by the International Red Cross and NOLS standards. We work closely with health experts in India as well as international staff to continually update our standards.
Our leaders are educated on risk management and backcountry first aid at Outward Bound, NOLS, the Himalayan Mountain Institute, and Nehru Institute of Mountaineering schools and undergo vigorous and meticulous instruction during our pre-season training.
You can push yourselves, both mentally and physically, by taking risks within our safety standards that will result in self empowerment, a newfound courage and sense of trust and most importantly a sound outcome.
